Audiovisual Engineer

The AV Field Engineer is responsible for a variety of duties associated with the closeout and commissioning of complex multimedia systems. This position is responsible for ensuring proper installation of integrated systems, quality control of audiovisual infrastructure, testing and final calibrations. Interfacing with client to include demonstration of new system operations.

The primary job functions are as follows:
  • System Testing, Troubleshooting & Optimization
  • Fully test basic & integrated systems
  • System Configuration, Downloading & Testing
  • Extron, Crestron, AMX,  Control Systems
  • Cisco, Polycom, and Avaya Video Conferencing Systems
  • DSP - Biamp Tesira/Audia/Nexia, ClearOne Converge/Interact, BSS Soundweb
Installation including but not limited to:
  • Ceiling/wall mounted cameras, speakers & displays (LCDs, plasmas, etc.)
  • Cabling infrastructure, AV Racks
  • Wall plates and interfaces (audio, video, or control)
  • Microphones (ceiling, table, wired, or wireless)
  • Proficiency in various terminations including, but not limited to, Audio connectors, Video connectors, Network connectors and Control connectors
Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of experience in the audio/visual field or a related field
  • The ability and willingness to work overtime as required
  • Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting basic and integrated audio visual systems
  • Ability to build racks and read schematics
  • Extron AV Associate designation
  • Basic understanding of Crestron and AMX code
  • Basic Understanding of Network Topology
  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills
  • Strong Attention to Detail & Processes
  • Experience with Windows OS and the Microsoft Office Suite preferred
